What to Know

The Pacific Tigers haven't won a game against the Brigham Young Cougars since Jan. 6 of 2018, but they'll be looking to end the drought this past Saturday. Pacific and BYU will face off in a West Coast battle at 9:30 p.m. ET at Spanos Center. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

The Tigers came up short against the Portland Pilots this past Thursday, falling 64-56. A silver lining for Pacific was the play of guard Alphonso Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, BYU lost 77-76 to the Santa Clara Broncos this past Thursday on a last-minute half-court bomb from Santa Clara's guard Jalen Williams with 0:01 left to play. The Cougars got double-digit scores from four players: guard Alex Barcello (20), guard Te'Jon Lucas (17), forward Gideon George (13), and forward Fousseyni Traore (10). That makes it three consecutive games in which Fousseyni Traore has had at least ten rebounds.

The Tigers have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 12 point spread they are up against. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the team has let down bettors in their past seven games.
