What to Know

The SMU Mustangs are 9-2 against the Tulane Green Wave since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success Sunday. SMU and Tulane will face off in an American Athletic battle at 3 p.m. ET at Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs are out to keep their 15-game home win streak alive.

Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, SMU beat the Cincinnati Bearcats 76-71 this past Thursday. SMU got double-digit scores from four players: guard Kendric Davis (25), guard Michael Weathers (19), forward Marcus Weathers (15), and guard Emmanuel Bandoumel (10).

Meanwhile, the UCF Knights typically have all the answers at home, but this past Thursday Tulane proved too difficult a challenge. The Green Wave captured a comfortable 82-67 win. It was another big night for their forward Kevin Cross, who had 15 points along with nine rebounds.

The Mustangs are the favorite in this one, with an expected 9.5-point margin of victory. Now might not be the best time to take SMU against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.

Their wins bumped SMU to 21-7 and Tulane to 13-13. In SMU's victory, Michael Weathers posted a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards and Kendric Davis had 25 points and five assists.
