What to Know

The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be returning home after a two-game road trip. MSU and the Vanderbilt Commodores will face off in an SEC battle at 1 p.m. ET Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum. The teams split their matchups last year, with the Bulldogs winning the first 84-81 on the road and Vanderbilt taking the second 72-51.

MSU came up short against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Wednesday, falling 66-56. Guard Iverson Molinar had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 37 minutes with 3-for-10 shooting.

Vanderbilt lost a heartbreaker to the Alabama Crimson Tide when they met last February, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Vanderbilt fell just short of Bama by a score of 74-72. Guard Scotty Pippen Jr. put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 26 points and six assists along with six steals.

The Bulldogs are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Minnesota Golden Gophers Dec. 5 easily too and instead slipped up with an 81-76. In other words, don't count the Commodores out just yet.
