What to Know

After two games on the road, the VCU Rams are heading back home. VCU and the Dayton Flyers will face off in an Atlantic 10 battle at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Stuart Siegel Center. Speaking of close games: the Rhode Island Rams typically have all the answers at home, but last week Dayton proved too difficult a challenge. The Flyers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 victory. They relied on the efforts of forward Toumani Camara, who posted a double-double on 18 points and ten boards, and forward DaRon Holmes II, who had 12 points along with six blocks and six rebounds. Camara hadn't helped his team much against the Fordham Rams last Tuesday, so this was a nice turnaround for him.

Barring any buzzer beaters, VCU is expected to win a tight contest. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a three-game streak of ATS wins.

The wins brought VCU up to 13-6 and the Flyers to 14-7. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: VCU ranks ninth in college basketball when it comes to points allowed per game, with only 58.9 on average. Dayton is not quite as good, but they are no chumps, either: they come into the game boasting the 19th fewest points allowed per game in college basketball at 60.7.
