Iowa announced that linebacker Marcus Collins has been dismissed from the team following his arrest for operating while intoxicated (OWI). Collins was arrested and charged early Friday morning.
According to a statement from Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz, Collins was already serving a three-game suspension prior to his arrest.
“We will assist Marcus as he pursues other options to continue his career,” Ferentz went on to say. “We wish him the best moving forward.”
Collins had been second-string on Iowa's depth chart, and saw most of his time on the field playing special teams. He had six tackles and a forced fumble.
