Michigan players and students were presented a special letter from New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter prior to Saturday's top-10 matchup against Wisconsin. The letter was accompanied by Jordan brand Derek Jeter "RE2PECT" shirts in school colors with the school's block "M" logo, reportedly the first "RE2PECT" shirts since his retirement.

"In the spirit of our Forged for Greatness partnership between Michigan and Jordan Brand, we created your 'RE2PECT IS EARNED' tees together this week for a reason. It is my personal challenge to you all to remain humble, yet hungry, every day along this journey to achieving greatness," Jeter wrote in his letter. "One of the most important things you can do is respect the game. You do that by respecting the process, the training, the grind, the details, your coaching and the people committed to seeing you succeed."

Even though he's retired from playing baseball, Derek Jeter remains a huge part of the Jordan brand's promotion and Michigan, only a few weeks into its Jordan/Nike era, remains one of the most recognizable names in college athletics. Jeter's support of Michigan athletics strengthens the impact of this campaign and partnership, which I'm sure will not stop with these "RE2PECT" tees.
