VIDEO: Iowa OT Brandon Scherff hang cleans 443 pounds
Iowa tackle Brandon Scherff is considered one of the biggest NFL Draft prospects in the FBS. This video goes some way to explaining why.
Full disclosure: I'm not a big weightlifting guy. Telling me that Iowa All-Big Ten offensive tackle and top NFL Draft prospect Brandon Scherff can hang clean three reps at 443 pounds sure sounds impressive, but I don't know it's impressive, if that makes sense.
That's where two things come in. First, from the Twitter feed of Hawkeyes strength coach Chris Doyle, the video of Scherff's feat, featuring the entire weight room stopping to bear witness and cheer Scherff on:
And second, the reaction from college football Twitter folk that know more about the subject than yours truly:
@HawkeyeNation @coach_Doyle If it wasn't on video, it would be folklore. I hope people realize how incredible this is.

Good christ a 443 pound clean for a triple is beastly business

@edsbs There are extremely strong people who would have trouble even pulling that off the rack. It's insane.

Just saw the Scherff hang clean and felt my entire skeletal system turn to jelly just sitting here. http://t.co/EJBZwq6hIw

Iowa's Brandon Scherff might actually be Paul Bunyan. MT "@coach_Doyle: Scherff = Clean 443x3." @ubersense http://t.co/B9V8OABDlx

All right, you guys have convinced me: this is damn, damn impressive. And worth watching again.
