A great path to victory is to simply outgain your opponent on the field, and that's working so far for the Utah Utes (with 517 yards vs. 86 yards). After three quarters it's looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Stanford Cardinal as the Utes lead 38-7.

Utah has been led by RB Tavion Thomas, who so far has rushed for four TDs and 177 yards on 20 carries. Thomas has put himself on the highlight reel with a 58-yard TD scramble in the second quarter.

Stanford has been riding high on the performance of QB Isaiah Sanders, who has punched in one rushing touchdown.

Utah's lead is the biggest they have had this year going into the fourth quarter.

What to Know

A Pac-12 battle is on tap between the Stanford Cardinal and the Utah Utes at 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday at Stanford Stadium. Utah should still be riding high after a win, while Stanford will be looking to right the ship.

The Cardinal came up short against the Washington Huskies last week, falling 20-13. QB Tanner McKee had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball once with only 194 yards passing.

Meanwhile, Utah strolled past the UCLA Bruins with points to spare last week, taking the game 44-24. RB Tavion Thomas went supernova for Utah as he rushed for four TDs and 160 yards on 24 carries.

Stanford is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 1-3 ATS when expected to lose.

The Cardinal are now 3-5 while the Utes sit at a mirror-image 5-3.
