  • Justin Herron: Let go by Detroit

The Lions released Herron (arm) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Tuesday.

Herron was placed on injured reserve back in August, just one week after signing with the team. The 29-year-old will now look to get healthy and catch on with a new team.

  • Lions' Justin Herron: Placed on IR

The Lions placed Herron (undisclosed) on injured reserve Sunday.

Herron spent last season on injured reserve with a knee injury and signed with the Lions last week. He didn't play in Friday's preseason win over the Falcons and will miss the 2025 campaign unless Detroit later cuts Herron with an injury settlement.

  • Lions' Justin Herron: Lands with Lions

Herron (knee) signed with the Lions on Saturday.

Herron's 2024 campaign ended before the regular season due to a knee injury. Now apparently healthy, he'll fight for a roster spot as depth along Detroit's offensive line.

  • Saints' Justin Herron: Placed on IR

The Saints placed Herron on the injured reserve list Sunday due to a knee injury.

Herron sustained a knee injury in practice Wednesday, and it appears severe enough for the Saints to place him on IR. The 2020 sixth-round pick out of Wake Forest will now be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless he is waived with an injury settlement.

  • Saints' Justin Herron: Absent from Thursday's practice

Herron missed Thursday's practice due to a knee injury, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Herron was forced to miss Thursday's practice after sustaining a knee injury just one day prior. The veteran offensive lineman came over from Las Vegas earlier in the offseason, and he'll likely be fighting for a depth role on the Saints' offensive line once he returns to the field.

  • Saints' Justin Herron: Heading to New Orleans

The Saints signed Herron on Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

New Orleans will be Herron's third NFL team over four seasons. He now is in line to compete for a roster spot along a Saints offensive line that is retooling after a disappointing season last year.

  • Raiders' Justin Herron: In line to play Sunday

Herron (concussion) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Bears, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.

Herron went from being a limited participant in Thursday's practice to a full go Friday, as he's moved past his concussion and will be available this Sunday. The 27-year-old tackle has played only two snaps this year, with both of them coming on special teams.

  • Raiders' Justin Herron: Won't play Week 6

Herron (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.

The 28-year-old suffered a concussion during Las Vegas' Week 5 win over Green Bay, and he has yet to clear protocol. Herron has played only two snaps on the year, with both of those coming on special teams, making this a minimal loss for the Raiders.

  • Raiders' Justin Herron: Not competing for starting spot

Herron (knee) will most likely be a swing tackle ahead of the coming season, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.

The 2020 sixth-round pick was placed on injured reserve Oct. 8 of last season after suffering a knee injury, but he's since had time to move past the issue. Herron, among others, has been aiming to compete with Jermaine Eluemunor for the right tackle spot, but it seems unlikely Herron has a shot to start at this point. Expect the Wake Forest product to be a depth tackle for Vegas' offensive line.

  • Raiders' Justin Herron: Placed on injured reserve

Herron (knee) was placed on the Raiders' injured reserve list Saturday.

Herron was recently traded to Las Vegas from the Patriots in hopes to help protect Derek Carr. While it is unclear just when the offensive tackle sustained his knee injury, he was able to suit up for Week 4 and play 17 of the team's snaps.

  • Raiders' Justin Herron: Headed to Raiders after trade

New England traded Herron along with a 2024 seventh-round pick to Las Vegas on Wednesday in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

The 2020 sixth-rounder out of Wake Forest made his way back onto the Patriots' 53-man roster in a depth capacity ahead of the 2022 season, but the Raiders, who have one of the league's worst offensive lines, saw fit to trade for him after they saw Derek Carr sacked seven times over the first two weeks of the new campaign. It's not immediately clear where Herron fits in Las Vegas' offense -- at 6-foot-5, 305 lb. with 33.5-inch arms, he's on the smaller side for a tackle -- but the Raiders can use all the help they can get at the offensive point of attack.
