Vertical Wingspan Draft Range
N/A 7-3 Late 1st-Early 2nd
  • Swanigan waited until about six hours before the deadline hit to make his decision final. He should have made this call a month before that, but clearly wasn't getting enough guarantees. This is silly. Swanigan is one of the 20 best players in this draft and will be an immediate guy of impact next season. Do not doubt this guy.
  • Too many to list. Swanigan has, over the course of five years, completely changed his body. He's well-defined and plays with an understated aggression. He is like an ox around the rim. His knack to grab rebounds, combined with his desire to do so, is something no other prospect in this draft can boast. Swanigan also has a good shooting touch and play as a power forward or center. He was a First Team All-American who would have been the best player in college basketball had he opted to return.
  • Swanigan still has big strides to make with his defense. For example, Iowa State's Deonte Burton -- who is one heck of an interesting prospect, but won't be drafted -- often had his way with Swanigan in the NCAA Tournament. Swanigan is a C-level athlete. He can't get off his feet well, and though he tries, he's vulnerable in switches.
