  • Cody Chrest: Cut by Green Bay

The Packers waived Chrest on Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.

Chrest was picked up by the Packers in July after being let go by the Steelers in June. He overcame a disclocated pinkie finger injury to play in Green Bay's final two preseason games and accumulated two catches for 14 yards. Once he clears waivers, Chrest will look for opportunities elsewhere or could opt to return to the Packers on their practice squad.

  • Packers' Cody Chrest: Avoids missing time

Chrest (finger) was targeted once and caught one pass for eight yards in Saturday's 19-15 preseason victory over the Seahawks.

Chrest dislocated his pinkie in practice a little over a week ago, but he did not wind up missing any action. While Chrest is healthy, he is a long shot to make the cut when the Packers make roster moves in the coming days.

  • Packers' Cody Chrest: Dislocates pinkie finger

Chrest dislocated his pinkie finger at Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Christ was able to pop the finger back in place following the incident and seemed optimistic about his status going forward. The undrafted free agent is competing against a crowded Packers receiving room and presumably on the outside looking in as of now. Thus, avoiding any time on the sideline will be essential for his chances.

  • Packers' Cody Chrest: Picked up by Packers

Chrest and the Packers have agreed to terms on a deal, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

This move comes after Chrest had a successful tryout in Green Bay. The undrafted free agent was an All-WAC Second-Team selection during his final collegiate season at Sam Houston State. He recorded a 4.35 40-yard dash at his Pro Day and will look to use that speed to his advantage and turn some heads in camp.

  • Cody Chrest: Let go by Steelers

Chrest was waived by the Steelers on Monday, Teresa Varley of the team's official website reports.

Chrest signed with the Steelers on May 25, but he will now look for another opportunity elsewhere. The wide receiver went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft after a three-year collegiate career with Sam Houston State and will likely operate as a practice squad option if he latches on with a team in 2023.
