Gregory Soto PIT RP
Pirates' Gregory Soto: Works in setup role
7h agoSoto struck out one without allowing a baserunner across one inning of work to earn a hold Tuesday against the Padres.
Soto entered Tuesday's game in the eighth inning with the Pirates holding a one-run advantage. He continued his strong start to the season and has now allowed only one earned run across 7.1 innings. However, Soto was likely to set up Dennis Santana in the ninth inning of Tuesday's game, though the Pirates scored five runs in the home half of the eighth frame, eliminating the save opportunity.

Ozzie Albies ATL 2B
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Belts third homer
7h agoAlbies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a 7-2 win against the Angels on Tuesday.
Albies went deep in the eighth inning to give Atlanta a 5-2 lead. It was the veteran second baseman's third long ball through 12 games after he went deep just 16 times over 157 regular-season contests last year. Albies also has four RBI and is slashing .277/.333/.468 so far in 2026 as he looks to bounce back from a pair of subpar campaigns.
-
Nick Gonzales PIT 2B
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Timely hit in win
7h agoGonzales went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Padres.
Gonzales started the first six games of the season, but he has started only three of five contests since the arrival of Konnor Griffin. He delivered a two-run single in the ninth inning to provide some insurance to Pittsburgh's lead in the ninth inning. Despite some inconsistent playing time, Gonzales has at least one hit in seven of his nine starts while driving in seven and scoring six runs.
-
Yusei Kikuchi LAA SP
Angels' Yusei Kikuchi: Posts uneven start Tuesday
7h agoKikuchi (0-2) took the loss against Atlanta on Tuesday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over five innings.
Kikuchi was handed a two-run lead in the first inning, but he couldn't hang onto it. Atlanta tagged the right-hander for a run in the second, but it was the fourth inning that really did him in, as Kikuchi gave up three runs on three hits and a walk in that frame. The outing wasn't entirely disastrous for Kikuchi -- he managed to rack up 15 whiffs and a season-high eight punchouts -- but he's now 0-2 with a poor 6.75 ERA through three starts. He'll try to turn things around in his next outing, though he's in line for a tough matchup in New York against the Yankees.
-
TJ Rumfield COL 3B
Rockies' TJ Rumfield: On base three times
7h agoRumfield went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Tuesday against the Astros.
Rumfield has started 10 of Colorado's 11 games this season and has had strong stretches of production. Tuesday's performance extended his hitting streak to three games, his second such streak this season. Rumfield has also chipped in seven RBI and six runs scored while going yard twice.
-
Raisel Iglesias ATL RP
Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Goes 1.2 innings for save
7h agoIglesias earned a save against the Angels on Tuesday, allowing two hits and striking out three batters over 1.2 scoreless innings.
Iglesias got the call in the eighth inning with Atlanta up 5-2 and the tying run at the plate for the Angels with one out. He struck out both Logan O'Hoppe and Travis d'Arnaud to escape the jam, then returned for the ninth after Atlanta plated two more runs. Iglesias notched a third straight strikeout to begin that ninth frame before giving up consecutive singles, and he was able to end the game by inducing a double-play grounder. For Iglesias to complete more than one inning was pretty unusual -- it was the first time he's done so during the regular season since September of 2024. With Robert Suarez around as his setup man, Iglesias doesn't figure to pitch more than one frame frequently, but his fantasy managers are certainly glad he was able to do so Tuesday since it resulted in his second save of the season.
-
Adrian Del Castillo ARI C
Diamondbacks' Adrian Del Castillo: Drives in two in loss
9h agoDel Castillo started at designated hitter and went 1-for-5 with two RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Mets.
With two outs and the bases loaded, Del Castillo challenged a called third strike, which was ruled a ball upon review. He didn't waste his second life and delivered a two-run single to right field to knot the game at 2-2. One batter later, Nolan Arenado doubled in the go-ahead run. The lefty batting Del Castillo, who was activated from the injured list Saturday, made his second start in three games since coming off the IL, both as the DH against right-handers.
-
Kyle Higashioka TEX C
Rangers' Kyle Higashioka: Smacks first homer of 2026
10h agoHigashioka went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer during the Rangers' 3-2 win over the Mariners on Tuesday.
Higashioka gave the Rangers the lead for good in the fifth inning, when he took George Kirby deep to left-center field for a two-run homer for the former's first long ball of the season. It was Higashioka's fourth start behind home plate in 11 games, and for now, it looks like he is the clear second option at catcher behind Danny Jansen to open the 2026 season.
-
J.T. Realmuto PHI C
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Departs with bruised foot
10h agoRealmuto was removed from Tuesday's game against the Giants with a bruised right foot, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Realmuto was hit on the foot by a foul tip while catching in the first inning, and he was replaced by Rafael Marchan in the second. The fact that the Phillies are calling Realmuto's injury a bruise suggests he didn't suffer a fracture, though the team may still give him a break during Wednesday's series finale so he can properly recover.
-
Moises Ballesteros CHC C
Cubs' Moises Ballesteros: Records first home run in win
10h agoBallesteros went 2-for-4 with a home run, an additional run scored and three total RBI in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Rays.
Ballesteros got on the board with his first home run of the season when he took Yoendrys Gomez deep in the ninth inning to put the icing on the cake in an easy Chicago win. The 23-year-old has seen his playing time begin to decrease as he's been in a slump with just a .208 average and .592 OPS even after Tuesday's promising performance. Ballesteros has plenty of offensive upside, and while the Cubs will likely continue to rotate players into the DH spot, the youngster should still see his fair share of opportunities, particularly if he can get on a hot streak.
-
Sean Murphy ATL C
Braves' Sean Murphy: Rehab assignment on tap
14h agoMurphy (hip) is expected to report to Triple-A Gwinnett to begin a rehab assignment Friday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The veteran backstop has been building up in simulated games in the lower minors and has now been cleared for game action. Murphy was sidelined for all of spring training while recovering from offseason hip surgery, so his rehab assignment is likely to be lengthy before he's cleared for his 2026 MLB debut.
-
Patrick Bailey SF C
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Idle Tuesday
14h agoBailey isn't in the lineup Tuesday versus Philadelphia.
Bailey went 1-for-4 in the series opener against the Phillies on Monday, but he will get a chance to rest Tuesday. In his place behind the plate, Daniel Susac will start and bat eighth.
-
Ryan O'Hearn PIT 1B
Pirates' Ryan O'Hearn: Reaches base three times in win
8h agoO'Hearn went 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Padres.
O'Hearn has reached base safely in all 10 starts this season and has reached base multiple times in nine of those 10 contests. He's swinging a hot bat in the middle of the Pittsburgh lineup and is now slashing a team-best .389/.489/.694 with three home runs, 11 RBI, six runs scored and an 8:7 BB:K across 45 plate appearances.
-
Spencer Torkelson DET 1B
Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Shows some life Tuesday
10h agoTorkelson went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Twins.
While Torkelson still hasn't delivered his first home run of the season, he did muster his first multi-hit effort Tuesday. The first baseman is batting just .206 with a .622 OPS, and he's striking out 31 percent of the time. Torkelson sported a .789 OPS and blasted 31 home runs during the regular season last year, so the power potential is there and his bat could get going at any point, though strikeouts remain a prominent part of his game.
-
C.J. Kayfus CLE 1B
Guardians' CJ Kayfus: Regains playing time
10h agoKayfus started in left field and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Kansas City.
Kayfus singled and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning. He had been held out of the starting lineup in four consecutive games last week, but it appears his contributions in Sunday's doubleheader -- a double, a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored -- put him back on manager Steven Vogt's radar. Tuesday's start was Kayfus' third in the last four contests, and he played a pivotal role off the bench in the game he didn't start.
-
Triston Casas BOS 1B
Red Sox's Triston Casas: Undergoing imaging after setback
16h agoRed Sox manager Alex Cora said that Casas (knee) is headed for imaging on his ribs after he tried to swing a bat Monday and "it didn't go well," Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Casas -- who initially went on the injured list as he recovers from last May's knee surgery -- was recently diagnosed with a left intercostal strain. More will be known about a possible timetable for Casas after his imaging results are in, but he won't be back anytime soon even if he gets a favorable result.
-
Andrew Vaughn MIL 1B
Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Could ramp up rehab soon
18h agoVaughn will have a follow-up appointment with his hand surgeon Thursday and hopes to be cleared at that time to progress to the next step of his rehab, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
What exactly that next step would involve isn't immediately clear. Vaughn suffered a hamate fracture in his left hand Opening Day and required surgery just over a week ago. The Brewers anticipate Vaughn being sidelined until at least early May.
-
Carlos Santana ARI 1B
Diamondbacks' Carlos Santana: Shelved by adductor strain
18h agoThe Diamondbacks placed Santana on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right adductor strain.
Santana suffered the injury in Sunday's game versus Atlanta and will need at least the next week-and-a-half to recuperate. With Pavin Smith (elbow) also shelved, the Diamondbacks' first-base and designated-hitter depth has thinned out. Ildemaro Vargas is at first base and Adrian Del Castillo is at DH on Tuesday against the Mets.
-
Ozzie Albies ATL 2B
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Belts third homer
7h agoAlbies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a 7-2 win against the Angels on Tuesday.
Albies went deep in the eighth inning to give Atlanta a 5-2 lead. It was the veteran second baseman's third long ball through 12 games after he went deep just 16 times over 157 regular-season contests last year. Albies also has four RBI and is slashing .277/.333/.468 so far in 2026 as he looks to bounce back from a pair of subpar campaigns.

-
Brendan Donovan SEA 2B
Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Belts leadoff homer Tuesday
9h agoDonovan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk during the Mariners' 3-2 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.
Donovan wasted no time getting the Mariners on the board, taking the first pitch of the game from Nathan Eovaldi deep to right field for a solo long shot. It was Donovan's third home run of the season, and he appears to be past the groin injury that caused him to miss the Mariners' final two games of the weekend series against the Angels. He has gone 12-for-35 (.343) with a steal and five RBI to open the season.
-
Nico Hoerner CHC 2B
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Steals another base Tuesday
10h agoHoerner went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Rays.
Hoerner has gotten off to a nice start with a .297/.438/.432 slash line through 11 games. The infielder also has already swiped five bases without getting caught. Despite facing a righty starter in Mason Englert on Tuesday, Hoerner batted leadoff, with Michael Busch slotting in second. Busch has gotten off to a slow start, so the Cubs may elect to keep Hoerner atop the order against both righties and lefties while he's performing so well.
-
Brice Turang MIL 2B
Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting with ankle/foot issue
16h agoTurang is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox due to an ankle/foot injury, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The second baseman has been playing through the injury for about a week, and the Brewers will take Tuesday's matchup against ace lefty Garrett Crochet as an opportunity to get Turang some rest. Milwaukee has a team day off Thursday after Wednesday's series finale in Boston, and it's possible Turang sits for a second straight game in order to string together three straight days and potentially get healthy. David Hamilton is manning the keystone Tuesday while Luis Rengifo starts at third base.
-
Mauricio Dubon ATL 2B
Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Goes yard in Monday's loss
20h agoDubon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Angels.
His ninth-inning long ball off Chase Silseth didn't impact the final outcome, but it did continue a hot start at the plate for Dubon. The veteran utility player is slashing .333/.368/.556 through 10 games with two doubles, two homers, six runs and seven RBI as he handles starting shortstop duties for Atlanta. Dubon will be hard to remove from the lineup if he's still providing this much offense when Ha-Seong Kim (finger) is cleared to return, but that decision for manager Walt Weiss is likely still about a month away.
-
TJ Rumfield COL 3B
Rockies' TJ Rumfield: On base three times
7h agoRumfield went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Tuesday against the Astros.
Rumfield has started 10 of Colorado's 11 games this season and has had strong stretches of production. Tuesday's performance extended his hitting streak to three games, his second such streak this season. Rumfield has also chipped in seven RBI and six runs scored while going yard twice.
-
Nolan Arenado ARI 3B
Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado: Collects two hits, RBI in loss
9h agoArenado went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Mets.
Arenado's two-out singled in the fifth inning scored a go-ahead run, but Arizona couldn't maintain the lead. It was the second straight game with an RBI for Arenado, who raised his season average to .229 to along with one double and two RBI over 35 at-bats.
-
Ildemaro Vargas ARI 3B
Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Fills in at 1B
9h agoVargas started at first base and went 1-for-5 in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Mets.
Vargas got the first crack at first base after the Diamondbacks placed Carlos Santana (adductor) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Arizona called up Luken Baker to replace Santana, adding another body to a rotation of players that could see time with both Santana and Pavin Smith (elbow) sidelined. in addition to Vargas and Baker, the Diamondbacks could deploy Jose Fernandez and Tim Tawa at first base.
-
Alex Bregman CHC 3B
Cubs' Alex Bregman: Snaps slump with three-hit game
10h agoBregman went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Rays.
Bregman snapped an 0-for-12 slump across his last three games with his first three-hit effort in a Cubs uniform. The veteran third baseman has yet to really get going for his new team, as he's batting just .200 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored through 11 games. Bregman's MLB track record suggests he'll heat up at the plate, and fantasy managers should remain patient, as he's in no real danger of losing playing time.
-
Alec Bohm PHI 3B
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Managing groin tightness
13h agoManager Rob Thomson said Bohm reported groin tightness following Monday's win over the Giants, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The Phillies will hold Bohm out of the lineup Tuesday to give him a day to recover, but Thomson said he expects the 29-year-old to be ready to return to action Wednesday. Edmundo Sosa will start at third base and bat fifth while Bohm rests.
-
Alec Bohm PHI 3B
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Day off Tuesday
14h agoBohm isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Bohm has gone 6-for-18 with four RBI and a run scored over Philadelphia's last four games, but he'll step out of the lineup for a day, opening up third base for Edmundo Sosa.
-
Trevor Story BOS SS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Drives home two in win
7h agoStory went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Brewers.
Story broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth with a double off DL Hall after Jacob Misiorowski loaded the bases. It's been a struggle at the plate for Story in the early going this season, as he's now slashing .140/.137/.240 with one home run, six RBI, one run scored and an ugly 0:18 BB:K across 51 plate appearances.
-
Xander Bogaerts SD SS
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Swats first home run in loss
7h agoBogaerts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-1 loss to the Pirates.
Bogaerts accounted for the Padres' offense in this one, as San Diego mustered three hits total. Bogaerts' first home run of the season came off Paul Skenes in the top of the seventh inning. The veteran shortstop is now slashing .233/.283/.349 with the one homer, four RBI, one run scored and 3:4 BB:K across 46 plate appearances.
-
Konnor Griffin PIT SS
Pirates' Konnor Griffin: Drives in two runs in victory
8h agoGriffin went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Padres.
Griffin ended an 0-for-13 skid at the plate with an infield single in the fifth inning. He later came around to score on a double by Oneil Cruz. Griffin then grounded into a double play in the seventh before singling home a pair of runs in the eighth. Through his first 20 plate appearances, Griffin is slashing .176/.300/.235 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored and a 2:4 BB:K. He still has yet to attempt to steal a base after swiping 65 bags in the minors last season.
-
Ezequiel Duran TEX SS
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Fills in at hot corner
9h agoDuran started at third base and went 1-for-3 in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Seattle.
Duran entered the lineup at the hot corner for Josh Jung, who was "banged up," per Texas manager Skip Schumaker. Duran was already getting opportunities at second base due to Josh Smith's offensive struggles and now could get time at third base, if Jung's injury lingers.
-
Kevin McGonigle DET SS
Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Collects two more hits Tuesday
10h agoMcGonigle went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Twins.
McGonigle now has at least one hit in eight of his 11 games so far, and he's batting .302 overall with an .853 OPS. The rookie infielder has hit the ground running, and it looks like he's earned a prominent spot in Detroit's lineup moving forward. McGonigle displayed similar offensive skills in the minors the past few years, and he's emerging as a fantasy weapon at just 21 years old.
-
Matt McLain CIN SS
Reds' Matt McLain: Lifts Reds late in win
10h agoMcLain went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-3 extra-inning win over Miami.
Cincinnati was held scoreless through the first eight innings before tying it up in the ninth and winning it in the 10th. McLain had a hand in both innings. He doubled, stole a base and scored a run in the ninth and then doubled in a pair in the extra frame. The multi-hit game was McLain's third in the last five games.
-
Mickey Moniak COL CF
Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Goes yard again
7h agoMoniak went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Astros.
Moniak remains a key contributor in the Rockies' lineup against right-handed pitching, slotting either second or third in the order. His two-run home run in the seventh inning came off of Kei-Wei Teng, his third of the season across only four starts. Moniak also has at least on hit in all four of his starts.
-
Willi Castro COL LF
Rockies' Willi Castro: Produces three RBI in win
8h agoCastro went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in a 5-1 win against Houston on Tuesday.
Castro put the Rockies on the board with a run-scoring single in the second inning and added a 436-foot, two-run blast in the fourth. The long ball was his first of the campaign, though he also has three doubles among his 10 overall hits. Castro has logged at least one start at each infield position already this season and is slashing .250/.318/.400 with seven RBI while maintaining an everyday role in the lineup.

Jakob Marsee MIA OF
Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Steals four bases Tuesday
8h agoMarsee went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and four stolen bases in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Reds.
Marsee stole 60 bases all of last season between Triple-A and the majors but entered play Tuesday with just one through 10 games. The Marlins made it a point to run on Tyler Stephenson all night and went a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen bases as a team Tuesday. Marsee reached base three times for the first time in 2026, as he came into the game with a total of four hits and five walks. The second-year outfielder is slashing .143/.245/.214 with two extra-base hits, two RBI, seven runs scored, five stolen bases and a 6:14 BB:K across 43 plate appearances.
-
Evan Carter TEX LF
Rangers' Evan Carter: Knocks in first run
8h agoCarter went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.
Carter's fifth-inning single delivered the Rangers' first run, and he scored one batter later on Kyle Higashioka's home run. The RBI was the first of the season for Carter, who is slashing .250/.351/.344 over 37 plate appearances.
-
Pete Crow-Armstrong CHC CF
Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Pops first home run
10h agoCrow-Armstrong went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a stolen base and three total runs scored in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Rays.
After smacking 31 home runs during the regular season last year, Crow-Armstrong had yet to find his power stroke before Tuesday, but he's now on the board with his first long ball of 2026. The talented outfielder also recorded his fourth stolen base through 11 games. Crow-Armstrong had a 30-30 campaign in 2025, and his ability to both hit the ball over the wall and swipe a base gives him a ton of upside from a fantasy perspective moving forward, especially if he goes on a power surge in the near future.
-
Michael Harris ATL CF
Braves' Michael Harris: Taking seat Tuesday
14h agoHarris is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Harris started the first 11 games of the season but will get his first day off Tuesday. He began the campaign with a homer Opening Day and a three-hit showing in the second game, but he's batting just .143 (5-for-35) across the past nine contests. Eli White is receiving the start in center field Tuesday for Atlanta.

Jacob Misiorowski MIL SP
Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Strikes out 10 in loss to Boston
7h agoMisiorowski (1-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Red Sox, allowing three runs one two hits and four walks with 10 strikeouts across 5.1 innings.
Misiorowski struck out the first five batters he faced Tuesday and was trading zeros with Garrett Crochet before Boston broke through in the bottom of the sixth inning. Misiorowski loaded the bases with three walks, and DL Hall came on with one out in a 0-0 game. Trevor Story tagged Hall for a two-run double before Caleb Durbin drove in a third run with a groundout. Misiorowski's stuff was electric, as he averaged 98.8 mph with his fastball. The 24-year-old has a league-best 28 strikeouts through three starts with nine walks and a 3.31 ERA. He's slated to face the Blue Jays at home next Tuesday.
-
Cristopher Sanchez PHI SP
Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Gives up 11 hits in loss
7h agoSanchez (1-1) took the loss against San Francisco on Tuesday, allowing four runs (two earned) on 11 hits and no walks while striking out six batters over five-plus innings.
Sanchez entered Tuesday having given up just one run on seven hits through two starts spanning 11.1 frames, but he was less effective against the Giants. The southpaw had to frequently work out of trouble over his first three innings, though he managed to make it through four frames with just one run allowed. Things fell apart for Sanchez a bit in the fifth, as he yielded a pair of runs (both were unearned) on three hits, including a double. He returned for the sixth but allowed the only two batters he faced to reach base before being pulled, with one more run being charged to him following his departure. Sanchez's ERA still sits at an attractive 1.65, and this shaky outing isn't going to remove him from the conversation as one of the baseball's top starting pitchers.
-
Robbie Ray SF SP
Giants' Robbie Ray: Notches another seven Ks in victory
8h agoRay (2-1) earned the win over Philadelphia on Tuesday, allowing three hits and issuing three walks while striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings.
Ray has posted exactly seven punchouts in two straight outings and has compiled an 18:6 K:BB through 17.1 frames spanning three starts. His performance Tuesday was his best so far, as he completed six innings for the first time while recording his first quality start and second victory. Ray lowered his ERA to 2.08 and has yet to give up more than two earned runs in an outing. He lines up to make his next start on the road in Cincinnati.
-
Michael Burrows HOU SP
Astros' Mike Burrows: Gets little run support in loss
8h agoBurrows (1-2) took the loss against Colorado on Tuesday, pitching 5.1 innings during which he allowed three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters.
Burrows' big mistake was serving up a two-run homer to Willi Castro in the fourth inning. Aside from that, he scattered several hits but benefitted from two double plays and gave up just one additional run. However, Houston eked out just one run of support, sending Burrows to his second loss through three starts. The right-hander will carry a 5.63 ERA and 15:6 K:BB across 16 innings into his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled to come against the Mariners in Seattle.
-
Antonio Senzatela COL SP
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Records first career save
8h agoSenzatela notched a save against the Astros on Tuesday, striking out three batters over 2.2 perfect innings.
Kyle Freeland gave the Rockies a quality start with 6.1 frames of one-run ball, and Senzatela took over with one out in the seventh. The latter retired both batters he faced in that inning and then logged a 1-2-3 eighth, so manager Warren Schaeffer opted to keep him in for the ninth instead of turning to a reliever with more closing experience. Senzatela rewarded that decision with another perfect inning to close things out. The right-hander worked primarily as a starter across his first nine MLB campaigns, and this is first season as a full-time reliever. The transition has gone well so far, as he's yet to give up a run while compiling a 9:1 K:BB over 7.1 innings spanning three appearances. Senzatela has covered at least two frames in each of his outings, so he's likely to work mostly in long relief rather than at the end of games.
-
Gregory Soto PIT RP
Pirates' Gregory Soto: Works in setup role
7h agoSoto struck out one without allowing a baserunner across one inning of work to earn a hold Tuesday against the Padres.
Soto entered Tuesday's game in the eighth inning with the Pirates holding a one-run advantage. He continued his strong start to the season and has now allowed only one earned run across 7.1 innings. However, Soto was likely to set up Dennis Santana in the ninth inning of Tuesday's game, though the Pirates scored five runs in the home half of the eighth frame, eliminating the save opportunity.
