Angels' Brendan Ryan: Designated for assignment Wednesday

Ryan was designated for assignment by the Angels on Wednesday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.

Wednesday marks the second time Ryan has been DFA'd by the Angels in the last month. He had his contract selected by the Angels on June 1, but he only had two at-bats in the two weeks worth of games that followed before being DFA'd again Wednesday. He was designated for assignment to clear a spot on the active roster for Andrelton Simmons. Ryan will now be placed on waivers and could rejoin the Angels organization if he goes unclaimed.
