Angels' James Hoyt: Removed from 40-man roster

Hoyt was outrighted off the Angels' 40-man roster Friday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Hoyt threw eight major-league innings this season, allowing 10 runs (six earned). As a 35-year-old with just 102.2 career major-league innings to his name, it's no surprise to see him pass through waivers unclaimed.
