Angels' Jered Weaver: MRI reveals tightening neck nerves

Weaver's MRI revealed tightening of the nerves in his neck, and is considered day-to-day, the Los Angeles Times' Pedro Moura reports.

He will meet with a doctor Friday to learn more about the issue with his neck, but the team has not officially shut him down. The MRI was prompted by some notably low velocity readings early in spring action, but even if the neck issue gets treated and Weaver gets back up into the mid-80s with his fastball, it is hard to expect much success from him in 2016.
