Ward (groin) is hitting third and starting in left field Friday against the Astros.
He was held out before the All-Star break due to a minor groin injury, but a week off was all he needed. Ward should continue to hit in a prominent lineup spot while Mike Trout (wrist), Anthony Rendon (shin) and Brandon Drury (shoulder) are all on the injured list.
