Manager Craig Counsell revealed Monday that Urias tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the start of the Brewers' summer camp last week, Adam McCalvy of reports.

Counsell also noted that pitcher Angel Perdomo tested positive prior to intake after both Perdomo and Urias consented to their test results being made public. According to Adam McCalvy of, Urias is currently asymptomatic, but he'll still be required to complete a quarantine period and receive two negative COVID-19 test results before he's allowed to rejoin the Brewers for workouts. Urias had already missed a good chunk of spring training with a wrist injury, so his absence early on in summer camp could hurt his case for capturing a meaningful role with Milwaukee right away when the season begins in late July.
