Dickerson will rest for the next two days in an effort to prevent overexertion, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Rays manager Kevin Cash explains the time off as a component of a plan to prevent the power-hitting first baseman/outfielder from swinging too much. "We're trying to be smart, back him off a little bit,'' Cash said. "He's good to go. We're very happy where he's at.'' Dickerson, coming off back-to-back .300 seasons in Colorado, is hitting .250 with one home run and three RBI over 24 spring training at-bats.
