Cubs' Andrew Romine: Clears waivers

The Cubs outrighted Romine to Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday.

As expected, the 34-year-old journeyman went unclaimed off waivers after the Cubs designated him for assignment Monday. Romine will likely spend the remainder of the season at Triple-A before hitting free agency this winter.
