Romine's contract was selected by the Cubs on Friday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Romine joined the Cubs after he opted out of his deal with the Twins in late March, and he hit .311 with a homer, 26 runs, 11 RBI and two stolen bases in 47 games at Triple-A Iowa. He should serve in a utility role with the major-league club.
