Cubs' Ryan Meisinger: DFA'd Saturday

The Cubs designated Meisinger for assignment Saturday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

The righty has appeared in seven games since joining the Cubs on Aug. 12, posting a 12.27 ERA and 6:5 K:BB in 7.1 innings of relief. Considering his poor numbers, Meisinger should clear waivers without issue and be back with Triple-A Iowa in a couple days.
