Terry elected free agency Friday after being outrighted off the Rangers' 40-man roster, independent baseball journalist Jeff Wilson reports.

Terry made his major-league debut this year and had a .279 OPS in 48 plate appearances, but his six minor-league seasons allowed him to hit free agency once jettisoned from the 40-man roster. The 25-year-old likely will need to settle for a minor-league deal this offseason given his minimal and unproductive major-league run and lack of defensive value, but his .882 OPS at Triple-A in 2021 should attract some attention.
