Beachy will be given a few days to rest after coming out of Friday's start with arm soreness, MLB.com reports.
His velocity was down nearly three miles per hour in the third Friday following a 40-pitch second inning. Beachy, a non-roster invitee to major league spring training, came into camp saying he was no longer rehabbing after returning from his second Tommy John surgery in 2015. This may very well take him out of the running for the No. 5 rotation spot, leaving just Mike Bolsinger and Zach Lee.
