Alvarez went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in Sunday's win over Atlanta and will retreat to the bench for the fourth time in the last five games. Trayce Thompson is starting in right field and batting ninth and appears to have usurped Alvarez as the Dodgers' preferred option at the position while Mookie Betts (rib) is on the injured list.
