Freddy Valdez: Cut by Boston

The Red Sox cut Valdez on Thursday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Valdez was acquired by Boston in 2021 as part of the trade that sent Andrew Benintendi to Kansas City, but he has yet to advance past rookie ball. Another team may be willing to take a flier on the 21-year-old outfielder, though his .584 OPS this season could limit his chances.
