Hunter Wood: Becomes free agent

Wood (elbow) elected free agency after clearing outright waivers Saturday.

Wood spent the final three months of the 2021 campaign on the injured list after he underwent elbow surgery in late June. He recorded a 3.60 ERA and 0.80 WHIP in five innings across five relief appearances in 2021, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be ready for spring training in 2022.
