The Mariners have selected Williamson with the 57th overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.
The first big surprise of Night 1 of the draft, Williamson was not in the top 200 prospects for MLB.com or Baseball America. The righty hitting third baseman makes contact at a high clip and has at least average power, but given that he went to William and Mary, he didn't face great competition.
