The Marlins selected Conine's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.
Conine will reach the big leagues for the first time in his career at age 27, replacing the injured Xavier Edwards (back) on the active roster. The outfielder had spent the entire season at Jacksonville, slashing .264/.347/.472 with 19 home runs and 68 RBI over 438 plate appearances. He's expected to serve as a part-time player while he's up with the Marlins and could see occasional starts against right-handed pitching at either designated hitter or in the corner outfield.
