Scruggs was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Scruggs has been on fire during his last 10 games with New Orleans, posting a .408 batting average and hitting five home runs. For the season, he now owns a .290/.408/.565 line with 21 home runs over 93 games. He'll start at first base and bat sixth in Friday's contest against the Pirates. In a corresponding move, Chris Narveson was designated for assignment.
