Mets' Abraham Almonte: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Mets outrighted Almonte to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Almonte was designated for assignment Saturday and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 34-year-old outfielder has logged only 49 plate appearances at the major-league level over the last two seasons and is slashing .217/.265/.348 in that span.
