Mets' DJ Stewart: Signs minor-league deal

Stewart signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Tuesday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training.

Stewart went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in very limited action at the MLB level last season with the Orioles, but the 2015 first-round pick did at times flash impressive raw power during his time in Baltimore. He figures to act as organizational outfield depth for the Mets at Triple-A Syracuse to begin the 2023 campaign.
