Orioles' Andrew Faulkner: Designated for assignment

Faulkner was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Friday.

With JJ Hardy coming off the 60-day DL (wrist), the Orioles chose to cast Faulkner off the 40-man roster to free up space for the shortstop. During the 2017 season, Faulkner has posted a 2.79 ERA and 1.41 ERA in 38.2 relief innings for Triple-A Norfolk, and will remain with the club if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
