Orioles' Cole Irvin: Outrighted to Norfolk

Irvin cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Norfolk, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Irvin will officially remain within the Orioles organization after being designated for assignment Tuesday. The 30-year-old southpaw allowed 17 runs in 19.1 innings after being moved to the MLB bullpen, though he may reclaim a starting role now that he's in Triple-A.
