Padres' Adrian Martinez: Added to 40-man roster

Martinez was added to the Padres' 40-man roster Sunday.

The 24-year-old righty pitched in the upper levels of the minors for the first time this past season. He primarily pitched as a starter, logging a 2.34 ERA at Double-A and a 5.28 ERA in the hitter-friendly conditions at Triple-A. Martinez will serve as rotation and bullpen depth next season.
