Rosier and Ray Kerr were traded from the Mariners to the Padres on Saturday in exchange for Adam Frazier, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Rosier only played 31 games of full-season ball last season, all at the Low-A level, but his numbers were excellent, as he hit .390/.461/.585 with 13 steals. That did come with a .434 BABIP, but he also showed excellent control of the zone, walking 18 times to go with 20 strikeouts. Rosier doesn't come with a ton of prospect pedigree, as he was selected in the 12th round of the 2021 Draft, and those numbers came in a small sample far from the majors, but it was an encouraging brief run nonetheless.
