Tyler's contract was selected from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.
The Padres need a fresh bullpen arm after Saturday's doubleheader against the Rockies. Tyler is capable of going multiple innings and has a 3.31 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with 19 strikeouts in 16.1 innings at Triple-A.
