Escobar was shut down with shin splints June 8 and won't return this season, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports.
The 19-year-old infielder had a standout showing in the Florida Complex League before getting shut down, slashing .338/.495/.481 with three home runs, nine steals, 21 walks and 10 strikeouts in 24 games. He likely would have been assigned to Single-A Clearwater to finish the year if he'd been healthy.
