Phillies' Jon Duplantier: Sent to minors

The Phillies reassigned Duplantier to minor-league camp Sunday.

A former top pitching prospect in the Arizona system, Duplantier was forced to settle for a minor-league deal with the Phillies this winter after logging a 4.71 ERA and 1.51 WHIP while striking out 109 batters over 93.2 innings for the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate at Oklahoma City in 2022. He'll likely open the 2023 campaign as a swingman for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
