Phillies' Yoan Lopez: DFA'd by Philadelphia

The Phillies designated Lopez for assignment Wednesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Lopez's removal from the 40-man roster clears a spot for outfielder Odubel Herrera, who officially re-signed Wednesday with the Phillies on a one-year, $1.75 million deal. The 29-year-old reliever will now head into DFA limbo for the third time in less than a year, after Arizona and Atlanta previously cast him off their 40-man rosters in 2021.
