The Rays selected Giese with the No. 85 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
An up-arrow right-hander from California, Giese came out this spring showing a low-90s fastball with good spin and a projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame. Scouts are also impressed with Giese's strike-throwing ability, and his father pitched three years in the majors.
