Kepler is out of the lineup Friday against the Tigers.
Joey Gallo, Michael Taylor and Alex Kirilloff will start across the outfield. Kepler has fallen into a .149/.184/.213 rut over his last 49 plate appearances since returning from a two-week IL stint for a left hamstring strain May 29.
