Al-Farouq Aminu: Waived by San Antonio

The Spurs waived Aminu on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Aminu appeared in only one preseason game due to an illness, which may have cost him a spot on the opening day roster. The 6-foot-8 forward was traded to the Spurs this offseason as a part of the deal that sent DeMar DeRozan to Chicago, but he will likely start the regular season as a free agent.
