  • Ike Anigbogu: Out for remainder of season

    Anigbogu (knee) will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season, per the G League transactions page. Per G League writer Kevin Danna, Anigbogu appeared to have suffered a knee injury against Sant Cruz on Feb. 24, and it appears to be a serious one. He will miss the remainder of the campaign as a result and will now look toward returning in 2022-23.

  • Ike Anigbogu: Efficient effort off bench

    Anigbogu delivered 13 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and an assist across 19 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's win over the Hustle. Anigbogu had another strong performance off the bench, and he has scored in double digits in two of his last four contests. He has proven he can score at this level, but the lack of consistency has been an issue so far. He's averaging just 6.8 points per game on the season.

  • Ike Anigbogu: Fouls out Saturday

    Anigbogu recorded four points (1-1 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and four blocks across 15 minutes before fouling out in Saturday's win over the Vipers. Anigbogu did what he's done all season long, which is to score at a low rate but provide excellent defense and rim protection, but unfortunately, this outing was cut short when he recorded his sixth foul. He hasn't done much across the season, so he shouldn't be a factor most nights for the Squadron.

The Pacers traded the Rockets for Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin on Thursday, and while the team is waiving both players, they still had to clear a spot on the roster to officially acquire them before doing so. Anigbogu has mainly been a fixture in the G League this year, and he will likely return to Fort Wayne to play with the Mad Ants once he clears waivers.

    Anigbogu (knee) returned to action Friday in the G League Fort Wayne Mad Ants' 123-105 loss to the Grand Rapids Drive. He sat out the second half of the back-to-back sat Saturday in the Mad Ants' 107-92 loss to the Lakeland Magic. It's unclear if Anigbogu was sidelined Saturday just as a precaution coming off the injury or if it was a result of a setback suffered in Friday's contest. The second-year center is averaging just shy of a double-double across 17 appearances this season for Fort Wayne with 11.2 points (on 46.4 percent shooting from the field) and 9.9 boards per game.

The two-way player saw a whopping 40 minutes Monday, but that wasn't even good enough to lead the team as Stephan Hicks finished with 42. The 20-year-old center has played sparingly with the Pacers, but through eight games with the Mad Ants is averaging 13.1 points, 10.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots.

    Anigbogu scored 19 points and also contributed 10 rebounds in the 120-118 loss Wednesday to the Hustle. Anigbogu also registered two blocks to go along with two steals, but the Ants were unable to complete a furious second half comeback. The 10 rebounds matched Anigbogu's season average, but 19 points does represent a slight uptick in his performance across the previous four games, making for a potentially intriguing buy-low fantasy candidate in the making.
