• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

  Rotowire Oct 21, 2026

Freiermuth turns 28 on Sunday, and he should celebrate his birthday with a great matchup against the Saints in Paris. New Orleans is No. 6 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and four guys have already scored at least 10.9 PPR points against the Saints this season. Freiermuth has scored at least 10.7 PPR points in two of his past three games, and he's worth using as a low-end starter in all leagues.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Two catches in Week 6 win

  Rotowire Oct 18, 2026

Freiermuth caught two of three targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 26-19 overtime win over the Bucs. Freiermuth entered Week 6 questionable due to a calf injury, but he ended up running 41 routes on Aaron Rodgers' 56 dropbacks. The tight end just didn't do much in the box score and was targeted on just 6.1 percent of Rodgers' 49 pass attempts. Freiermuth has already scored four touchdowns this season but has just 180 receiving yards on 21 grabs across 29 targets through six games. He's a touchdown-or-bust fantasy option.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Active in Week 6

  Rotowire Oct 18, 2026

Freiermuth (calf) is active for Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Buccaneers. Freiermuth was tacked on to the Steelers' injury report Saturday after he dealt with calf tightness during the team's walkthrough, but reports earlier Sunday indicated the veteran tight end was trending toward active status. Freiermuth's availability is now official, and after recording three touchdown receptions over the last two games, he could be in for another busy afternoon Sunday due to Pittsburgh being without all of Michael Pittman (IR, foot), Roman Wilson (IR, finger) and Ben Skowronek (calf) in terms of pass-catching options.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Chance to play in Week 6

  Rotowire Oct 18, 2026

The Steelers are "optimistic" that Freiermuth (calf) -- who is listed as questionable -- will play Sunday at Tampa Bay, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Pittsburgh added Freiermuth to the injury report Saturday, even though he was a full participant in practice throughout the week. Despite Freiermuth's late addition to the report, the Steelers are seemingly of the belief that he'll be available Sunday, which will be confirmed approximately 90 minutes before a 1 p.m. ET kickoff. If Freiermuth isn't 100 percent, Darnell Washington and Robert Tonyan will be on hand for increased roles at tight end.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Sleeper TEs

  Rotowire Oct 16, 2026

Michael Pittman (foot) was out in Week 5 against Indianapolis, and Roman Wilson (finger) was injured against the Colts. Freiermuth stepped up with five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown on seven targets, and he has now scored at least 10.7 PPR points in three of five games this year. I like Freiermuth as a low-end starter in Week 6 against the Buccaneers, who have already allowed three tight ends to score at least 10.4 PPR points this season.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Week 6 Waiver Priority List

  Rotowire Oct 13, 2026

With Michael Pittman (foot) and Roman Wilson (finger) out for Pittsburgh, Freiermuth could be needed in Fantasy and reality heading into Week 6 against Tampa Bay. Pittman missed Week 5 against Indianapolis, and Wilson was injured in that game. Freiermuth stepped up with five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown on seven targets, and he has now scored at least 10.7 PPR points in three of five games this year. I like Freiermuth as a low-end starter against the Buccaneers, and he's worth adding for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAAB.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Finds end zone twice in win over Indy

  Rotowire Oct 11, 2026

Freiermuth caught five of seven targets for 44 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-22 win over the Colts. He added one yard on his lone carry. The veteran tight end connected with Aaron Rodgers on a one-yard score in the second quarter and a 17-yard strike in the fourth. Freiermuth is up to four touchdowns through five games to begin the season, already matching his total over 17 regular-season contests in 2025, and his 19 catches has him on pace to match the career-high 65 passes he hauled in during 2024. Freiermuth will look to keep rolling in a Week 6 road trip to Tampa Bay.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Gets into end zone Thursday

  Rotowire Oct 2, 2026

Freiermuth brought in three of five targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers' 27-24 loss to the Browns on Thursday. Freiermuth and fellow tight end Darnell Washington each had three catches and a touchdown on five targets, as the two continued in a pretty even timeshare at the position. Freiermuth's scoring grab was particularly timely, as it came with 1:42 remaining and put the Steelers within two points of knotting the game up at 24-24. Freiermuth has multiple receptions in every game this season and a pair of touchdown catches, and he should remain in a similar role when Pittsburgh returns to action in a Week 5 home matchup against the Colts on Sunday, Oct. 11.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Held to two catches in Week 3

  Rotowire Sep 29, 2026

Freiermuth recorded two receptions for 30 yards on four targets and carried once for one yard in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Bengals. Freiermuth took the field for 37 of the Steelers' 62 offensive snaps, with his 60 percent share placing him slightly behind fellow tight end Darnell Washington (47 snaps, 76 percent). The Steelers should continue to make ample use of two-tight-end sets to keep Freiermuth involved in their game plans, but since he doesn't project to see heavy target volume week to week, he'll remain a largely touchdown-dependent fantasy option.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Sleeper TEs

  Rotowire Sep 25, 2026

Freiermuth loves playing against the Bengals. He's faced Cincinnati 10 times in his career, and he has scored at least 11.2 PPR points in eight of those outings, with six touchdowns. He's averaging 14.7 PPR points against the Bengals, and he should be considered a low-end starer in all leagues. It helps that Cincinnati just struggled against Dalton Schultz in Week 2 with 12 catches for 140 yards on 14 targets, and Aaron Rodgers should lean on Freiermuth in this game.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Week 3 Waiver Priority List

  Rotowire Sep 22, 2026

Freiermuth is off to a solid start in two games with nine catches for 78 and a touchdown on 10 targets, and he's worth using as a low-end starter in deeper leagues in Week 3 against the Bengals. Cincinnati once again struggled with Dalton Schultz in Week 2 (26 PPR points), and Freiermuth has a tremendous history against the Bengals. He's faced Cincinnati 10 times in his career, and he has scored at least 11.2 PPR points in eight of those outings, with six touchdowns. He's averaging 14.7 PPR points against the Bengals, and he should be added in all leagues for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAAB.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Plays two preseason games

  Rotowire Sep 4, 2026

Freiermuth capped the Steelers' preseason schedule with one catch (on one target) for two yards in two contests. Through five campaigns as a pro, Freiermuth has played at least 16 regular-season games on four occasions, and his tally of 486 receiving yards from 2025 marked his lowest among them. He was on the receiving end of passes from QB Aaron Rodgers for the first time, and with Rodgers returning for his age-43 season, Freiermuth likely isn't in store for much more production, even if the addition of WR Michael Pittman frees up more space for the tight end to operate.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Logs 10 offensive snaps Friday

  Rotowire Aug 22, 2026

Freiermuth played 10 snaps on offense but did not show up in the box score otherwise during the Steelers' 17-0 preseason loss to the Jets on Friday. Freiermuth and Darnell Washington saw limited action in Friday's exhibition contest, with the former not seeing a target from Will Howard. Freiermuth is entering his sixth NFL season off the heels of a disappointing 2025 campaign, when he caught 41 passes (on 54 targets) for 486 yards and four touchdowns across 17 regular-season games, with his receptions and targets both being career lows. Freiermuth and Washington will provide quarterback Aaron Rodgers with big targets in the passing game, with both tight ends working in complement with wide receivers DK Metcalf (undisclosed) and Michael Pittman (hamstring).

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Could have bigger role in 2026

  Rotowire Jul 17, 2026

Freiermuth is a candidate to take on a larger role in Pittsburgh's passing game during the 2026 campaign, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Freiermuth was targeted only 54 times in 17 regular-season games in 2025, tying Jonnu Smith for the lead among Pittsburgh's tight ends while Darnell Washington drew 43 targets. Smith is no longer on the team, and while the Steelers made a high-profile addition at wide receiver by bringing in Michael Pittman, they also lost running back Kenneth Gainwell, who led the team with 73 catches last season. It's worth noting Aaron Rodgers typically hasn't relied heavily on tight ends, as no player at the position has recorded more than 767 receiving yards in a regular season on a team quarterbacked by Rodgers.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Modest numbers in 2025

  Rotowire Feb 12, 2026

Freiermuth secured 41 of 54 targets for 486 yards and four touchdowns across 17 regular-season appearances in 2025. Freiermuth paced Pittsburgh's tight ends in receiving production, but his ceiling was significantly capped by the presence of both Jonnu Smith and Darnell Washington (forearm), as well as the run-first schematic design of former offensive coordinator Arthur Smith (now at Ohio State). The 27-year-old remains under contract through the 2028 season and will retain a consistent role in Pittsburgh's offense, but both Smith and Washington are set to return in 2026, and the first read for red-zone opportunities will consistently be wide receiver DK Metcalf. Those factors will make Freiermuth a deep sleeper in 2026 fantasy drafts, and it's difficult to envision an upside scenario for him even if new head coach Mike McCarthy manages to spark things on offense.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Strong second half in Sunday's win

  Rotowire Jan 5, 2026

Freiermuth brought in three of five targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Ravens. Freiermuth continued his recent trend of coming on late in games when he missed both of his targets in the first half before erupting for 51 yards on three receptions after halftime. The 26-year-old generated a 44-537-4 receiving line while operating in a TE rotation also featuring Darnell Washington (forearm) and Jonnu Smith (38-222-2) in 2025. Freiermuth should continue receiving extra looks in the playoffs after Washington was placed on IR after suffering an injury in Week 17.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

  Rotowire Dec 30, 2025

DK Metcalf (suspended) is out again in Week 18 against Baltimore, and Darnell Washington (arm) will also miss the Ravens game. That puts Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith (10 percent rostered) in a big spot for the Steelers. In Week 17 at Cleveland, with Metcalf out, Freiermuth had three catches for 63 yards on five targets, and Smith had five catches for 18 yards on five targets. I like Freiermuth better than Smith, but both are worth using as low-end starters in all leagues.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Three catches Monday

  Rotowire Dec 15, 2025

Freiermuth caught three of five targets for 45 yards in Monday's 28-15 win over the Dolphins. Freiermuth was able to reel in three or more passes for the eighth time this season while his five targets and 45 receiving yards were his highest marks since Week 7. The tight end has had limited production this season like many of the Steelers' pass-catchers while splitting time at his position with Darnell Washington, Jonnu Smith and Connor Heyward. Freiermuth will look to build off of Monday's performance when the team travels to face the Lions in Week 16.

• Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Reaches end zone against Bears

  Rotowire Nov 24, 2025

Freiermuth secured all three of his targets for 19 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 31-28 loss to Chicago. Although Freiermuth continued to split work at tight end Week 12, he scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter to bring the Steelers within three points. The touchdown was his fourth of the season, but he's now been held under 20 receiving yards in back-to-back weeks. Freiermuth's fantasy potential this season has been dependent on his ability to reach the end zone, and he's secured 26 of 32 targets for 298 yards and four scores over his first 11 appearances in 2025.
