Blackhawks' Josiah Slavin: Demoted to minors

Slavin was sent down to AHL Rockford on Monday, Carter Baum of the Blackhawks' official site reports.

Slavin garnered just one shot and one hit in 14:37 of ice time versus the Blues on Sunday. With Chicago not playing until Thursday's clash with Edmonton, the team will save some cap space by sending Slavin back to the IceHogs. Unless one of the team's injured forwards is prepared to come off injured reserve, Slavin or another forward will need to be called up before the team faces the Oilers.
