Blackhawks' Zack Smith: Shifted to LTIR

Smith (back) was placed on long-term injured reserve Friday.

Smith has yet to play this season due to a back injury, and his placement on LTIR suggests he may not be able to play at all in 2020-21. If that ends up being the case, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 32-year-old forward announce his retirement following the current campaign.
