Canadiens' Riley Barber: Shifted to minors

The Canadiens assigned Barber to AHL Laval on Thursday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The 25-year-old made his Montreal debut in the month of December, going pointless in nine contests with the big club. Barber's demotion is likely evidence that one of five forwards dealing with injury for the Canadiens is nearing a return to the ice.
