Islanders' Bracken Kearns: Called up to big club

Kearns was emergency recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday.

With Casey Cizikas (upper body) and Cal Clutterbuck (lower body) going down during Tuesday's win over the Red Wings and Shane Prince (upper body) still on the mend, the Islanders are in serious need of forwards, thus leading to Kearns' first recall of the season. The 35-year-old is currently leading Bridgeport in scoring and is a solid two-way player, so perhaps the vet can see some solid playing time during this window of opportunity.
