Lightning's Waltteri Merela: Heads to minors

Merela was assigned to AHL Syracuse on Sunday.

Merela didn't have a point while chipping in 12 shots on goal, three blocked shots and 10 hits in 10 appearances with the Lightning this season. His demotion to the minors could mean that Tyler Motte (upper body) is ready to return to the lineup.
