Maple Leafs' Alex Biega: Signs two-way pact

Biega signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

Biega spent large chunks of last season on the Red Wings' taxi squad, which is not an encouraging sign of what to expect from the 33-year-old. He could compete for a bottom-pairing role with the Maple Leafs, but a two-way contract suggests he may spend more time with the AHL's Marlies than the parent club.
